does having more than one credit card help your credit more?

I have an American Express card that I pay off in full every month. If I were to get another credit card, say Visa etc. would that help build my credit more than just having the one card? I am a college student and looking to build a good credit score.

What credit score is needed to get the best fixed rate for consolidating accounts?

Any suggestions on how to raise credit scores in the range of 597-607 received from all 3 credit reporting agencies.
I have 2 mortgages which was done by the mortgage company a couple years ago to help my credit and both have high rates, 1 car loan, 5 credit cards, and a small loan company. I have been paying more on my credit cards the last 3 or 4 months to get the balances down. I want to consolidate the mortgages and the car loan in the future. But, not sure how high a credit score needs to be for the best fixed rate.

Can you help me improve my credit score?

Ok, so, I owe money to two cell phone companies and one car insurance company. All together sums up to almost 00. Is that really bad on my credit? Will that prevent me from getting hired?

My plan is to order my credit score and pay this debts. What is the process? I just want to pay in full what I owe. I want to contact them and give them their money.
